Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the influence of professional ethics training on the integrity of Information Technology students through a selected literature review covering publications from 2010 to 2025. The analysis integrates discussions on ethics training models, professional IT ethical standards, and moral development theories to identify conceptual patterns linking ethics training to student integrity. The findings indicate that experiential learning, case-based instruction, project-integrated ethics, and digital ethics simulations are the most effective approaches in enhancing students’ moral reasoning, ethical sensitivity, and professional responsibility. Theoretically, this study contributes by synthesizing philosophical ethics perspectives, the ACM–IEEE professional ethics framework, and cognitive moral development theory into a comprehensive conceptual foundation for understanding integrity formation in the IT domain. These insights offer academic implications for curriculum development, particularly the need to strengthen ethics training aligned with emerging digital technology challenges in higher education.
