Pengujian Sistem Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) PLN–Inverter Berbasis Timer Delay dengan Fitur Auto Charging

This research aims to design and implement an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system capable of automatically switching power sources between PLN (State Electricity Company) and an inverter-based Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system, with a switching time fast enough to avoid restarting the device. The research method used is an experimental engineering approach, starting from the ATS system design process, hardware implementation, to testing under three load conditions: no load, incandescent lamp load, and a combination of lamp and computer loads. The test results show that the average transfer time from PLN to PLTS is 229.333 milliseconds and from PLTS to PLN is 271.333 milliseconds, with maximum values of 235 milliseconds and 297 milliseconds, respectively. This switching time is still within the tolerance limit to maintain power continuity on the computer without causing operational disruption. However, a decrease in the power factor (cos φ) was found due to the use of a modified wave inverter and repeated switching caused by the failure of the voltage sensor to read the battery capacity accurately. This study shows that the performance of the ATS system is greatly influenced by the selection of the inverter type and the reliability of the sensor, so further development is needed to improve the stability and accuracy of the system.
